The upcoming co-op shooter from Remedy Entertainment, FBC: Firebreak, has received a release date of June 17th, 2025. The title, which is set in the shifting, changing world of their Control game, is a session-based, PvE multiplayer game where players take on Jobs that can often go from simple to bizarre in the blink of an eye.
Remedy has announced that the game will release for $39.99, with a deluxe edition costing $49.99, releasing alongside it. Players who buy the base game will have an option to upgrade to the deluxe edition through a $10 dollar purchase at a later point. This will be Remedy’s first self-published game.
According to an official blurb, FBC: Firebreak will allow you to unlock gear and cosmetic items by playing the game through a mechanic called Requititions. There is also a system to exchange real-world money for cosmetic items, though they promise these items are purely visual and do not alter the experience, unlike the Altered Items that players will be hunting down during each run. Remedy has also insisted they will not have limited time rotations or daily log-ins.
Remedy has additionally confirmed their plans for the ongoing support of the title post-launch. This will include two new jobs that are planned to be released in 2025. More updates are planned for 2026 as well, though what they are remains to be seen. All playable content post-launch, such as jobs or agents, will be released for free in updates.
Currently, Remedy has a lot on its plate, including FBC: Firebreak. Right now, the studio is hard at work remaking the game that put them on the map, with remakes of Max Payne 1 and Max Payne 2. Following that, Remedy has confirmed Control 2, though where it currently is in development is unknown at this time.
FBC: Firebreak is slated to release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC.
