Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, like most soulslikes, has its equivalent of the Dark Souls’ Estus Flask called the Manna Vase. You start with three of these healing potions that recharge every time you reset the world in one of the shrines. Eventually, as the game progresses and the enemies’ attacks and life bars expand, you will begin to ask yourself how to have more of a fighting chance with more Manna Vases. Well, the solution is not as straightforward as other games in the genre.
Going into the sprawling skill tree accessible from the shrine menu, you will see several roots to choose from. Once you level up with red mercury essence gained from defeating enemies or using items that reward you with it, you will need to branch out to the left side. This is where the more utility-based skills will be available, with the two branches to improve your Manna Vase just at the beginning of that skill tree.
While the game does not tell you directly how to gain more Manna Vases, once you obtain the Forgotten Remembrance and Lost Remains items, in their descriptions, you will see that they can be redeemed in the skill tree. The first one you will find is after defeating the first sub-boss, called the Tang Palace Maid. If you leave the cave and walk right down to where a shiny chest was previously seen near a creek, your first Forgotten Remembrance to increase your Manna Vase charge will be waiting for you. The first Lost Remains will be just ahead, to the right-hand side of the path, before fighting the boss in that area, Master Raider – Man-Eating Dhutanga.
