Phantom Blade Zero, the upcoming action game from Chinese developer S-GAME Studio, has a 12-month console exclusivity window with the PlayStation 5. This is similar to other games like Silent Hill 2 Remake, as well as Final Fantasy XVI, in which Sony either funds a portion of the development or pays an exclusivity deal to keep a title in their PlayStation console ecosystem during initial release to keep the conversation centred on their platform.
During the Video Game Awards, we finally received a release date of September 9, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and PC, which means a potential Xbox Series port will not see release till the tail end of 2027 at the earliest. This is the most likely platform to get a port of the Wuxia action game, though Nintendo Switch 2 could see a port near that time as well, given the focus on third-party titles with their upgraded handheld.
This confirmation of the exclusivity window of Phantom Blade Zero comes from a recently released teaser video posted on PlayStation’s official YouTube channel. This featured the usual blue screen ending to the trailer, stating the game will have console exclusivity, which we already knew, but then an asterisked portion noting that this window would last a full year. This being said, this period is when developer S-GAME can finally port the title, not an indication that they will, as titles like Final Fantasy VII Remake took years to finally be ported to the Xbox Series, with a Nintendo Switch 2 port planned for early next year.

Phantom Blade Zero will see players take the role of a famed assassin named Soul, who is framed for murder. In an effort to uncover the truth behind this, players will engage in fast-paced combat across multiple locales. Sony published this title as part of their China Hero Project, in which the publisher invested large sums into the Chinese gaming industry to secure exclusivity deals like the one here.
