Life Is Strange: Reunion is one of the most anticipated games in the franchise, in no small part due to Chloe Price’s return. A new video from the official LiS channel explains how it was possible.
Spoilers for Life is Strange and Life Is Strange: Double Exposure follow.
Life Is Strange: Reunion, set to release on March 26, turned many heads with its big announcement reveal. After more than 10 years of devoted fans anxiously waiting for it, Max Caulfield and Chloe Price would finally be reunited again. But now that the dust has settled and the excitement has tempered somewhat, the question arises: how? Thankfully, the official YouTube channel of Life Is Strange just released a useful explainer as to how everyone’s favorite blue-haired (now green) punk came back.
At the end of the first Life Is Strange, a life-changing decision that scarred an entire generation of narrative storytelling fans had to be made: bae or bay. That’s right. Max Caulfield’s time-rewinding abilities messed up so much with her universe that she had to choose to either let her hometown of Arcadia Bay be destroyed by a massive typhoon or let Chloe die. Not an easy choice by any means, this of course brought the intrigue of some players who had to make their peace with letting Chloe go long ago.

In Life is Strange: Double Exposure, Max finds herself again in the thick of it, faced with the decision of once again influencing the world with her superpowers. In this case, her best friend Safi was killed, and her grief makes her live in two different timelines: one in which she is alive and one in which she is not. This allows for very interesting perspectives and gameplay features to let Max snoop around—as she loves to do—but I digress. By the end, the world is once again about to end, and Max chooses to “merge” the timelines to save Safi.
Inadvertently, we now know that she brought Chloe back from the dead in the process. The rest, we will find out on March 26th. Life Is Strange: Reunion will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam.
