Minor Spoilers for Wheel World Below. Pop Quiz, Hotshot is arguably one of the most obnoxious trophies to earn in Wheel World, possibly even of a multitude of games that I have recently played. Now, in fairness, while it looks extremely daunting, actually setting up the conditions to perform and earn it is not hard. This being said, as the trophy/achievement description itself states, ‘Ride at an uninterrupted speed of 40kph for 10 minutes,’ it should be noted that in order to unlock this badge of honor, you will need to perform it in one go. Despite the uninterrupted part,…
Light spoilers for Wheel World are contained below. Wheel World has a lot to discover in its Open-World map and, for the most part, takes a minimal approach to player Exploration, with the map itself really offering no indication about where things in the world are hidden. This is a fun approach as you don’t feel bombarded with a checklist of things to complete, but in some cases, you need a nudge in the right direction. That can be the case with the secret tracks hidden throughout the world, just waiting for you to ride them. Early on in the…
One of the things I have loved about the indie space is just how game developers can take an idea, one familiar to you, and twist it on its head. Take, for instance, the magical, fantastical world of Wheel World, from developer Messhof Games, which manages to toe the line between that familiar ground and something wholly unique that you just want to get sucked into. At the core of it, Wheel World is a racing game with high-end bikes as the means to an end of getting rep, the in-game currency you need to get taken seriously on these…
Xbox has announced that titles like The Outer Worlds 2, which was previously available to preorder for $80, will no longer be released for that price, instead releasing at the current industry standard of $70. This will be applied to all games releasing this holiday season, with the company backtracking on plans to increase all first-party releases to the higher price point by that point this year. Speaking with IGN, an Xbox Spokesperson stated: We’re focused on bringing players incredible worlds to explore, and will keep our full priced holiday releases, including The Outer Worlds 2, at $69.99 – in…
Debuting in June, the Nintendo Switch 2 has become the fastest-selling hardware in the gaming space ever, helping to raise game spending to a new monthly record. This is all according to a monthly report released by Circana. Spending on the hardware itself was a massive 249% year-over-year, thanks to the Nintendo Switch 2 consoles’ launch, reaching $978 million and surpassing, by a lot, the previous record set in June 2008 of $608 million. In total, the Switch 2 sold a total of 1.6 million units in the U.S. during its launch month, beating out the previous record that was…
EA has announced that it will officially reveal the next entry in the long-running military shooter, Battlefield, this week. It appears that the official title will be Battlefield 6, with the game set to receive its first trailer on July 24th at 8 AM PT. This news comes from a YouTube listing that popped up on the official Battlefield channel, with a scheduled stream listed for that date and time. Beyond that, the listing is lacking in more concrete details outside of some artwork depicting four soldiers overlooking a battle in a metropolitan-like area with vehicles like helicopters and ships,…
Supermassive Games, the developer behind horror-themed narrative games Until Dawn, The Quarry, and The Dark Pictures Anthology, has announced it will be laying off up to 36 staff members in more redundancies across 2025. This will add to the over 6,000 job losses that have already occurred in 2025, as well as the 17,000 jobs that were lost in 2024. In a statement issued by the studio via their social media account, Supermassive also confirmed that they would be delaying their next title in The Dark Pictures Anthology, Directive 8020, which they now aim to have out in “the first…
The upcoming game from Arc System Works, 4v4 tag fighter Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, will be playable this summer during EVO 2025 in Las Vegas. This will be the first time that the public will be able to get a hands-on look at the next fighting title from the studio behind Dragon Ball FighterZ and Guilty Gear since the game was announced during Sony’s State of Play event in June. The build that will be showcased at EVO will allow players to create a team of four from six characters that will be featured in the game: Captain America, Iron…
