Xbox has announced that titles like The Outer Worlds 2, which was previously available to preorder for $80, will no longer be released for that price, instead releasing at the current industry standard of $70. Debuting in June, the Nintendo Switch 2 has become the fastest-selling hardware in the gaming space ever, helping to raise game spending to a new monthly record. This is all according to a monthly report released by Circana. EA has announced that it will officially reveal the next entry in the long-running military shooter, Battlefield, this week. It appears that the official title will be Battlefield 6, with the game set to receive its first trailer on July 24th at 8 AM PT. Supermassive Games, the developer behind horror-themed narrative games Until Dawn, The Quarry, and The Dark Pictures Anthology, has announced it will be laying off up to 36 staff members in more redundancies across 2025. This will add to the over 6,000 job losses that have already occurred in 2025, as well as the 17,000 jobs that were lost in 2024.
