*Spoilers for Mafia: The Old Country Contained Below The first thing players will notice in this chapter of Mafia: The Old Country is the time skip, as showcased by Enzo sporting an actual head of hair. While the year is still 1904, Enzo has been working for the Torrisi family for a month or two by the look of things, still getting used to being free from the mines, but seemingly having integrated into the family rather nicely. The chapter begins with Enzo yet again loading up a shipment, but this time getting to ride along with it, escorting it…

*Spoilers for Mafia: The Old Country below After the opening credits roll for Mafia: The Old Country, we take control of Enzo on the upper floor of a barn, just trying to get some sleep after his daring escape at the end of the Prologue. Here, Il Merlo and his goons from the mines have tracked him down, waking him up in the process and forcing Enzo to make another escape, lest he be killed, given that what he did during his escape is probably not something he can come back from. The Barn You begin the level on the…

*Spoilers for Mafia: The Old Country Below. In Mafia: The Old Country, we are first introduced to Enzo deep in the heart of the sulfur mines of Sciliy in 1904. The Prologue is entitled Tremori, which translates into English as Tremors, so that should give you an understanding of what is going to happen here. In fact, in the opening moments of the game, the two men, Enzo and his friend Gaetano, set off to recover something they had hidden, noting the risk of taking it topside and out of the mine, but fearing the tremors would make it lost…

When it comes to Roguelike titles, there are always those that get unfairly glossed over, either for not being flashy enough or possibly not seeming as accessible. Last year, while everybody was fawning over Balatro (which is a great game, don’t get me wrong), I was addicted to Shogun Showdown, which I have around 30 or 40 hours in, which for me is a lot, but it was rarely game I could discuss, considering all the conversations about it lead to what it was and then whoever I was talking to about it switch to that… Other game… That everybody…

*A code was provided for this preview of Concubine Concubine is an experience I was hoping would have something good in there to draw me. Visually, and I guess substance-wise, the game treats itself like many of the games on Steam, catering to, we will call them, certain sexual proclivities. The kind you lock your door for and turn off your Discord account so people don’t know you are playing them. Well, you do maybe. I stopped caring years ago when it became more work to hide in than explain it. Concubine is not one of those games, though, at…

Initiation is the sincerest form of flattery, or so they say. In the video game industry, it is also a prevalent practice for a game developer to hit the nail on the head, have a winning combination, and for others to take notice and try their hand at the same. It’s a double-edged sword to attempt this, though, with something so readily apparent to compare your game to. Thus is the case with Wild Hearts S, the Nintendo Switch 2 port of the console game from Koei Tecmo studio Omega Force (yes, the Dynasty Warriors team), which drew heavy inspiration…
