Dune: Awakening, the MMO Survival Crafting title developed by Funcom, will not be making its way to consoles until 2026, the developer has confirmed. Awakening launched on PC on June 10th, with a console version having been announced, but no definitive timeline was given for when fans could expect to start playing it until now.
\Funcom wrote a press release that didn’t offer up much in the way of details, only stating that the game “will be coming” to PlayStation and Xbox platforms, stating that the date for release was “sometime in 2026.” The team confirmed that the Dune: Awakening season pass is now live, offering things like the Wildlife of Arrakis DLC, which gives players for statues based on creatures featured in the game: the sandworm, chiroptera, kulon, and Muad’Dib.
Dune: Awakening has three more planned DLC releases that are scheduled for the next year and beyond, with one slated for Q4 2025, another slated for Q1 2026, and the last for Q2 2026. Alongside these free updates are planned as well; continuing to expand the game for all players, bringing in a host of “new content, features, and enhancements.” Funcom additionally strengthened its commitment to “no subscription fees or microtransactions.”
Our website was lucky enough to receive a review key for the title and is currently among a list of a few games we are working through. With a few titles releasing soon that need our full attention, and Dune: Awakening being absolutely massive, we promise this review will release only when we feel we have seen enough to give it a fair and accurate reflection of our time with it. Stay tuned for more as we get closer to anything definitive.
