Infinity Nikki, the live service dress-up game, Publisher Infold Games has announced the first major update. Entitled The Shooting Star, it will be released on December 30th across PC, PlayStation 5, IOS, and Android and will run until January 23rd, 2025. This update will add more adventures, limited-time events, and many new outfits to play dress-up with.
Additionally, players can expect new storylines to be added, as well as platforming challenges that can be encountered throughout the open world. The update features the tagline “Let shooting stars guide paper cranes on their journey of fulfilling dreams.”
An official blurb released from the studio states:
tories of the past still echo in the wind, as new wishes begin a brand-new chapter. During the season of shooting stars, people come together beneath a starlit sky. May paper cranes carry each precious dream, shooting stars shine upon every heartfelt wish, and may every day of the new year shine as brilliantly as the stars in the sky.
Infinity Nikki is a continuation of the long-running mobile series from China, that for the first time allows players to fully explore Miraland, which is a large-scale world. Throughout this world, Nikki can collect clothing to both change her appearance and grant her magical powers to explore the world or fight enemies.
So far, the free-to-play game has been downloaded over 20 million times since its release, up from the 10 million it had only 4 days after release. It was developed by Chinese Developer Papergames and directed by Kentaro Tominaga, perhaps best known up to this point for his work on The Legend of Zelda series.
In addition, while celebrating their 10 millionth download through a post on X, they stated that a special reward of 10 Resonite Crystals, the game item that allows players a draw in the gotcha system, would be made available to allow players. These items are still redeemable as they will be available until January 1st. They can be redeemed after the player acquires the Pearpal item, around 2 hours into the game.
