The following guide contains light spoilers for Death Stranding 2: On The Beach.
Early on in Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, you will find a lone island in the northwestern area of the map, surrounded by water and difficult to access. If you talk with the other shelters, such as Olivia Westbury from West Fort Knot, they will tell you that The Inventor resides on that island, tinkering with new technologies all by himself. So the question arises, how does one reach The Inventor?
Do you remember your odradek? That useful scanning device to explore your surroundings by pressing L1? Well, point towards The Inventor’s island and use your odradek, and you will notice a yellow path to emerge from the red areas alongside the coast. By walking through this yellow path, you will be able to reach The Inventor.
But that’s not all! It is recommended to grab some of the lost cargo that is close to his shelter to deliver it to him and get on his good graces. While a little slow to walk on water to get to him, several items will make your expeditions a little easier, including access once again to the world-renowned otter hood found in the first game.
