The following contains light spoilers below for Death Stranding 2: On The Beach.
If you are a melomaniac like me, you very likely spent dozens of hours wishing for a Music Player to have been incorporated into the first Death Stranding. The fact that you could not play external music from Spotify or Apple Music was just salt on the wound. After all, if Final Fantasy XV was able to do it in its sprawling open world, why couldn’t Kojima’s latest Stranding-type game? Fret not, as the musical gods have listened to our prayers, and Death Stranding 2: On The Beach actually does have a dedicated Music Player to chill out to your favorite tracks from the soundtrack. But where is it?
To cut to the chase, you have to reach the shelter of The Musician. Available from Chapter 3 onwards, once you arrive in Australia, there are several smaller deliveries you have to complete first, but once the main order to deliver to The Musician can be picked up, then go straight to him.
Once you deliver the cargo needed, The Musician, also known as famous Japanese composer Gen Hoshino, will give you the Music Player, which will then become accessible from the Ring Terminal or Main Menu. With a few dozen songs ready from the get-go that at this point in the game you will have already listened to, more will become available as you explore new areas, or by increasing the star level of certain shelters.
So, there you have it. Now you will be able to create your own playlists and chill out to your favorite tracks while delivering packages all across Australia. Enjoy.
