Lost Soul Aside, the upcoming Chinese Action game, has been hit with a three-month delay so that the development team can add additional polish to the long-awaited title. Originally planned for a May 30th release, it will now release on August 29th, a relatively short wait given the game has spent a decade in development with creator Bing Yang building the initial project solo.
Ultizero Games, the developer behind the game, stated via X:
We are truly grateful for the positive response we’ve received from players all over the world since we announced Lost Soul Aside.
We remain committed to delivering a high-quality game experience. To match the standards Ultizero Games have set for ourselves, we are going to take some additional time to polish the game. Lost Soul Aside will now release on August 29, 2025. We want to express our heartfelt thanks to our fans waiting for the launch.
Originally started as a passion project by Bing, inspired in part by the aesthetic of the then-upcoming Square Enix game Final Fantasy XV, the project has grown exponentially and now has an entire team he leads as CEO at Shanghai-based Ultizero attached to it. Lost Souls Aside is also a part of Sony’s China Hero Project, alongside released games like ANNO: Mutation, and upcoming titles like The God Slayer.
Lost Soul Aside features players taking the role of Kesar, who weilds a shape-shifting weapon that also serves as your dragon like companion throughout, that gives you multiple play styles as you take part in the fast-paced action combat, drawing from combat features a combat system inspired by more recent titles in the Final Fantasy series, as well as Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, and Ninja Gaiden. It will also feature a blend of sci-fi and contemporary aesthetics.
Kesar will set out on a quest to defeat the interdimensional being known as Voidrax, who arrived after a meteor shower and is intent on destruction, draining species of their souls. This happens to the protagonist’s sister, with recovering her soul proving to be his primary motivation.
Lost Soul Aside will be available on the PlayStation 5 and PC on August 29, 2025.
