Bungie’s next big project after Destiny, Marathon, is readying up a Server Slam from February 6 to March 2, before its March 5th release.
Marathon, a sci-fi PvPvE extraction shooter, is finally opening its doors after a brief delay late last year. As Bungie’s next premium release, the stakes are high. In preparation for its launch on March 5th, a server slam will be available for players worldwide, running from February 6th to March 2nd. Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S will be the platforms where the event will run. Participants who complete the introductory mission during the Server Slam will earn a special emblem and banner for launch to commemorate the event.
Initially revealed in early 2023, it has been a long wait for this fledgling FPS to get to Bungie’s fans. A core selection of maps, contracts, and Runner shells will give a taste of Marathon’s trademark gameplay, which will no doubt feature the developer’s trademark impeccable shooting. Those who make the time to play during the Server Slam will be able to earn tiered gear packages for the full launch, which include weapons, implants, and more to aid on their first runs.

The narrative of Marathon has players scavenging the lost colony of Tau Ceti IV as bio-cybernetic runners while surviving against hostile security forces, rival Runners, and unpredictable environments. PlayStation Plus players will receive exclusive player charms of Sony’s other iconic IPs, such as Helldivers 2, Death Stranding 2, and Ghost of Yōtei. Steam and Xbox players will receive a different kind of special weapon charms in the future.
Marathon’s Server Slam will run from February 26, 2026, at 10 a.m. PT to March 2 at 10 a.m. PT. The full game will be available in Standard and Deluxe editions for PlayStation 5, Steam, and Xbox Series X|S on March 5th.
