MindsEye, the upcoming title from Build A Rocket Boy, has received a new gameplay trailer, in addition to the announcement that the title will retail for $59.99. There has also been an outline of content players can expect from the game when it releases. Build A Rocket Boy, which is a studio led by former Rockstar North veteran Leslie Benzies, has confirmed a June 10, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC.
On official blurb for the MindsEye describes the game as such
Set in the near-futuristic city of Redrock, MindsEye delivers a tightly crafted linear story campaign. Players will step into the shoes of Jacob Diaz, a former soldier haunted by fragmented memories from his mysterious MindsEye neural implant, as he uncovers a conspiracy involving rogue AI, corporate greed, an unchecked military, and a threat so sinister that it endangers the very survival of humanity. The game’s story is brought to life with state-of-the-art visuals built on Unreal Engine 5.
In response to the price tag, the studio stated that they consider it “a refreshing departure from the standard $70~$80 AAA price tag.” When the game launches, it will feature a “tightly crafted linear story campaign,” and what they call “single-player free roam.” The game will feature a horde mission and two combat missions, as well as several types of races. The premium pass will include an extra horde mission as well as a cosmetic pack.
While a $60 dollar price tag might have been a great maneuver any prior year to this, with many AAA titles raising their prices to $70 and $80, this year has also seen price decreases as well. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, right now the front runner for game of the year, is currently priced at $50, with titles like Mafia: The Old Country also set to release at the same price point later this year.
Post launch, Build A Rocket Boy said they plan to release a “Constant stream of premium content monthly to ensure “MindsEye is a living, ever-expanding player experience.” This will include new missions, challenges, and game assets. This will include a roadmap of content releases throughout the year, with summer seeing community updates, fall receiving new single-player modes and multiplayer, and winter getting a new free-roam option.
MindsEye was announced in 2023 as part of Build A Rocket’s other title, Unreal Engine 5, and massive multiplayer online and game creation system title, Everywhere, as a sort of tech demo of what was capable with the platform.
