With rumors persisting that several members of the media were able to go hands-on with the inevitable Nintendo Switch 2, it was only a matter of time until the discussion turned to what multiplatform games would be coming to it. It looks like, if you are a Nintendo fan looking for big games to play on the go, you should be in for an exciting few months. While we are still waiting for the official announcement of the platform, leaker Tom Henderson has suggested several games are set to announce the upcoming platform for release.
As posted on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Tom is anticipating several games to list the Nintendo Switch 2 among the platforms they are releasing across the next ’12-18 months’. Of course, the console itself is expected to arrive next year so it should not be a shock to expect announcements, the more important take here is that the platform’s improved tech will make it more capable of competing with the next generation of consoles, and that more 3rd party support can be expected.
One of the titles that can be expected to be released on the platform is Call of Duty, though whether this year’s Modern Warfare III or the next title in the series will be the first remains to be seen. Microsoft had announced previously that they entered into a 10-year deal with Nintendo to have the popular FPS release on Nintendo Consoles, once Microsoft closes their Activision/Blizzard acquisition deal.
There is also the potential that previously announced titles, such as the much-delayed switch version of Hogwarts Legacy might see themselves delayed one more time, hoping to make use of the tech jump between Nintendo’s 5-year-old platform and their soon-to-be-new one. What remains to be seen is if the Nintendo Switch 2 will be formally announced before gaming starts to list it as their platform, or if listings will out the platform.
