With the long-awaited return of Chloe Price in Life is Strange: Reunion, new details in a hands-on report explain how this will impact the latest entry in the beloved series.
Life Is Strange: Reunion is set to release later this month on March 26th, and a couple of news outlets got to try a hands-on demo for it. Many interesting new tidbits arose from said experiences, such as the fact that both Max and Chloe will be playable, and their dynamic will stem from choices you make. For fans of both the original Life is Strange and the Chloe-themed Before the Storm, this sounds like a dream come true.
While Max Caulfield had her rewind powers changed to the ability to swap between alternate realities in Double Exposure, Reunion is set to bring her OG powers back. In said account of the demo, a familiar situation where Max is trying to pick up a hard-to-reach crowbar only to cause a racket with falling furniture. Players of the emotional classic will remember similar awkward moments as Max sneaks about in Blackwell Academy, avoided thanks to her time-shifting powers.

Chloe’s gameplay, on the other hand, will see her TalkBack ability return. Because she does not have any otherworldly powers, her reliance on sarcasm ultimately ends up being the most useful of skills. Responding to what to say in a time-limited fashion will let her convince others or wiggle her way out of tight spots. Just like in that introductory scene in which she convinces the bouncer in Before the Storm to let her into a rock concert. It appears that developer Deck Nine Games is homaging what came before in the best of ways, and most hands-on accounts sound excited about the direction it is taking overall.
Reunion, acting as both a direct sequel to Double Exposure and the end of the overarching plot for Max and Chloe, will see the return of many characters from that entry: Moses, Safi, and Max’s love interest Amanda are bound to throw a wrench into or strengthen Max and Chloe’s relationship. Life Is Strange: Reunion launches March 26, 2026, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Steam.
