Nintendo has announced that it will be holding an Indie World Showcase tomorrow, March 3rd. The showcase will air at 6 AM PT / 9 AM EST and will feature 15 minutes of news and updates on indie titles set to release across the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. This is not a Nintendo Direct, of course, so don’t expect any major announcements concerning first-party titles like a new Mario title or the upcoming Splatoon Raiders.
Nintendo Indie World events can be at times hard to predict what might be showcased. At the last event, which was held in August, Mina The Hollower from Shovel Knight developer Yacht Club Games received a demo that many fans had been waiting for. We also received information on titles like Herdling and Ball x Pit.
A common occurrence during Indie World events is to see indie titles receive a shadow drop. We have seen this in the past with games like Spiritfarer, Chicory: A Colorful Tale, and Dungeon Munchies. There is a possibility of games or updates being released the same day this time as well, but it remains to be seen.
Nintendo held a partner direct last month, showcasing much of what could be expected concerning third-party releases on the platform. This included a release date announcement for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, dates for several Bethesda titles such as Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and another look at Resident Evil Requiem running on the Nintendo Switch.
