*Spoilers for Silent Hill f below.
Early on in the third distinct part of Silent Hill f, Hinako awakens in front of the Chizuruya General Store, where she had had a confrontation with several monsters prior in the game. Here, while the player is tasked with following Shu you are given a pretty big amount of freedom to explore and backtrack. Across the street from the General Store, you can also backtrack to the alleys you traveled through to get here initially, when previously you needed to travel around the truck blocking the road. Traveling this way, you will eventually find Sakuko’s house, which you should recognize from the balcony above, where she was introduced, calling Hinako a traitor.

Try the door here, and it is expectedly locked, but you might be surprised that the mailbox is also interactable and locked. During the first part, it is easy to miss, given all that happens, but while Hinako explains her friend’s dreams, she mentions that Sakuko’s Family serves at a shrine in town. You will reach that shrine during this chapter, but it will take a while. Eventually, you will reach a Hokora shrine that is in front of the paddy fields, with a road running alongside those fields. You want to take a left turn here and follow the path, which goes on for a while. Eventually, it will go into a creepy forest that you need to go through as well, so keep going on this road. Eventually, on the other end, you will reach the Sennensugi Shrine.
There is a small area here that you have to explore amid stone statues and in front of the shrine. On the left side of this area, there is a fallen Buddha statue with some paper leaning against a statue as well. Interact with a fallen object, Buddha will give Hinako the Key to Sakuko’s Mailbox, which does exactly what you think it does. Heading out of the Shrine area will get you a special scene. Now, obviously, the job back isn’t as long as it took to get there, especially if you explore everything like I do, but you are still returning to the start of the area, then a little further back. Be careful on your path back to the start, though, as enemies will spawn between you and the mailbox.

Head to Sakaku’s house and beat the enemy that is standing in front of it. Now you can move over to the mailbox and use the key. This will reward you with the Omamori (Spider) charm, which is very valuable as it greatly reduces the weapon durability decrease when using light attacks. There is a boss enemy you will need to contend with in the literal next area as you continue towards your ultimate goal of Rinko’s House, and you should have unlocked the ability to level up along the path to the shrine, which includes the number of Omamori you can equip, this charm is worth going out of your way for at this point in time. You will also receive the Letter from the Hospital to give you some additional lore. In addition, you will get the A Federal Offense Trophy/Achievement for going through your friend’s mail.
