The lineup for February’s PlayStation Plus catalog additions has leaked online, suggesting that Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2 will be added to the service. This leak comes via Dealabs leaker Billbil-Kun, who has a positive track record and has suggested that Sony is set to announce the title as this month’s headline title.
Other titles set to join Marvel’s famous webslinger include racing title Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown, as well as the artistic indie game Neva, which will be available for PS4 and PS5. It has also been stated that all three of these titles will be added to the service on February 17 and will be available via the extra tier of the service.
Spider-Man 2 was initially released in October of 2023 and serves as the third entry in the Insomniac series, with the interquel Spider-Man: Miles Morales released alongside the PlayStation 5 in 2020, connecting the two entries. It received universal acclaim upon release, but had the unfortunate luck of releasing against Baldur’s Gate III and Alan Wake II, getting nominated for multiple awards it didn’t win.
The placement of this potential announcement would make sense given the timing. Sony has announced a 60+ minute State of Play that will feature first and third-party titles, with many expecting the upcoming Insomniac title Wolverine to appear and potentially reveal a release date. This would position the title to begin building hype for the company’s next release, which they announced last year would come in 2026.
Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is a racing title set in Hong Kong. The game is interesting, and players who have enjoyed the previous entry will probably find something to link here, but the always-online nature of the game can be frustrating at times. Neva, which is from the same developers as Gris, is an emotional puzzle platformer about a girl and her giant wolf that is sure to delight fans looking for something unique.
