One of the more loved, but bizarre features from The Sims 3 is set to make an appearance in The Sims 4, through the upcoming Adventure Awaits Expansion Pack, which should make a fitting edition to the game, given that the expansion is set to release on October 2. This feature, which is one of many new additions to the current Sims title, is that of imaginary friends that allow the younger Sims to turn things like dolls into bizarre abominations of the mind.
This feature, along with others, is juxtaposed to the three new Getaway Lots: Camp Gibbi Gibbi, Revive & Thrive, and the Love Highlands. Other new activities showcased amid these lots were Kayaking, weight-lifting, playground-building, water slides, and diving boards. There will also be a reality show-like contest that players can participate in, appearing to be similar to the long-running ABC reality show The Bachelor.
There is other fun to be had here as well as Camp Gibbi Gibbi appears to take on the role of a summer camp, bringing with it all the fun you might expect from that. This will include archery and cooking competitions, with other skill-based events for Sims to participate in as well. Getaways are a new type of vacation added to the game that features a system that allows you to plan out a daily itinerary of events or add rules to them. You can also set getaways to be recurring so that they can be experienced daily, weekly, or monthly.
It does seem like the Adventure Awaits Expansion Pack will have content for Sims young and old, so players can join in no matter their household makeup. The Expansion will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC.
