Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One

For people that have yet to make the jump to the newest generation of consoles but were still hoping to experience Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the continuation of Kal Kestis’s story from Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, you will soon be able to.

During an earnings briefing for Publisher EA, it was revealed that Respawn Entertainment is currently in the ‘early stages’ of porting the sequel to the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. Jedi Survivor launched for the PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and PC in April of this year to positive reviews. Despite this, the PC version suffered from multiple issues, something EA and Respawn have been working on fixing through multiple patches.

This decision to port the games to the previous generation comes with little warning, with it being previously stated by game director Stig Asmussen to PlayStation Magazine that the studio made a choice to focus only on the latest hardware to create a “true new-gen experience”.

Respawn has not given any indication when players might expect this ported version of the game, or what compromises might be made for it to run on the older hardware. This is also not the first title to receive a backward port later than its current-gen counterpart, with Hogwarts Legacy being the obvious example.

Beyond this port, the already-released versions of a host of “additional performance improvements” that are in the works as Jedi: Survivor remains a high priority for the company. Respawn is also working on other Star Wars projects, including a First Person Shooter, as well as a Strategy game alongside developer Bit Reactor.
