Batman: Arkham Trilogy Delayed on Switch

The upcoming compilation of Batman: Arkham games for the Nintendo Switch, which was set to release on October 13th, has been delayed back to December of this year. The collection was announced during a Nintendo event earlier this year, promising to let Nintendo Switch players dawn Batman’s signature cowl and play three of the best superhero games anywhere they go.

In an official statement released by Warner Bros., it was stated:

More time is needed to bring players the best possible experience on Nintendo Switch. We apologize to fans who are excited to play this version of the trilogy. Thank you for your patience.

The compilation includes Rocksteady Studios developed Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City which were both released on the PS3 and Xbox 360 to rave reviews as well as Batman: Arkham Knight for the PS4 and Xbox One which received a more tepid response but still fun. The only game in the series not featured in the collection is Batman: Arkham Origin which was developed by WB Games Montreal, the studio that went on to develop Gotham Knights, which is also believed to be coming to Nintendo Switch soon.

While these games are dated, it is good that Warner Bros. is taking their time with the project all the same. Recently the company came under scrutiny after Mortal Kombat 1 was released for the switch in an extremely unpolished state, especially when compared to its PS5, and Xbox Series counterparts. While it should be expected for the game to be unable to run at the same quality, the game was released at the same price as the current-gen versions.

Additionally, the much-delayed switch port of Hogwarts Legacy is slated to release on November 14th though the company has remained quiet on how that port is coming. With the follow-up console to the Switch being ramped up, and with developers getting dev kits, I recently asked, if maybe Hogwarts Legacy should be delayed a little longer for the newer tech, which you can read here.
