After months of speculation and rumors, Microsoft and Asus have unveiled the ROG Xbox Ally, a handheld device with native Xbox support that will allow players to download or stream their Xbox games directly to the device from their Xbox, Xbox Game Pass, or Xbox Cloud and play them wherever they want to.
During the trailer, two versions of this device were announced, the ROG Xbox Ally, which features an AMD Ryzen Z2 A, 16GB of memory, and 512 GBs of storage, as well as the ROG Xbox Ally X, which features a AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme, 24gb Memory, and 1 TB of Storage. Both of these handhelds will have access to Xbox and Xbox Game Pass, but Battle.net, as well as other PC storefronts.
In a post via Xbox Wire, several features are outlined, describing just how this device was designed with their ecosystem in mind. This includes the Xbox button placed on the left side of the machine, which allows for quick access to “chat, apps, and settings through an enhanced Game Bar Overlay.” The platform also features a contour grip for comfort, as well as a slew of accessibility options for players who might require them.
