Only a few weeks after Silent Hill 2 Remake received a listing on the ESRB Website, having been rated for the Xbox Series S/X consoles, Konami and Bloober Team have officially released the title on the platforms in a stealth release with no warning, at least in some regions. In addition to that, the title currently features a 50% discount for its launch. Fans have spotted that the game is specifically available in Australia, which is a day ahead of the US, making the release date Friday, November 21.
While there is no official word for the game yet in other regions, the suggestion is that the game will be released around the world on Friday as well, with the game likely being made available come midnight. On the AU store, Silent Hill 2, which is listed at full price $99, with that price reduced to $50, which is a great price considering the year that Xbox fans had to wait to return to Silent Hill.
As of yet, there is no official announcement from Konami concerning an official release of the title. With an Xbox Partner Preview Showcase announced for today, and the timing seeming to line up, most likely, there will be an announcement made during the event. The Partner Preview is scheduled for 10 AM PST / 1 PM EST, so you can tune in then to see.
Silent Hill 2 Remake has been a pretty successful return to the franchise for Konami, developed by the team behind Layers of Fear, Bloober Team. Released in October 2024 for PlayStation 5 and PC, the game hit 2.5 million sales worldwide earlier this year. Konami referred to these numbers as strong by their internal metrics, and Bloober Team has officially confirmed they are developing a remake of the original Silent Hill as well.
