PlayStation Plus Monthly Games For January Confirmed By Sony

Sony has announced the PlayStation Plus lineup for January 2026, which will kick off the new year for the platform. The three games honestly could not be more different, featuring Need For Speed Unbound, Disney Epic Mickey Rebrushed, and Core Keeper. These titles will be made available starting on January 6 and will be up until February 2. This means that you only have a few more days to grab the December titles, which include Killing Floor III and Synduality, before they return to normal prices. More details on all of this are available through the PlayStation Blog.

Need For Speed Unbound is arguably the largest title here, at least from a franchise perspective. Released in 2022, it is the latest in the Need for Speed series, following 2019’s NFS Heat. The title featured somewhat of a departure for the series at the time, shifting away from the typical hyper-realistic characters and cars to feature a more animated style, simulating anime to some degree. It features a seprereate Single-Player and multiplayer, and was noted at the time for featuring more post-launch content, something that Heat did not, something uncommon for EA at the time. It is a PS5 exclusive.

Disney Epic Mickey Rebrushed was a 2024 title that was released in 2024 by THQ Nordic to good reviews. Epic Mickey is one of the more beloved disney tie in titles, featuring players taking the role of Mickey on a platforming adventure in which, through the use of a magic paint brush, needs to solve puzzles and traverse across a place known as the wasteland, a pen-and-paper stylized world of forgotten things. The title also features Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, the character Walt Disney saw some success with prior to his creation of Mickey Mouse. It Will Release on PS4 and PS5.

The final title in this group is the indie title Core Keeper from developer Pugstorm. The game is a top-down sandbox survival game in which players explore procedurally generated underground worlds. Like many survival games, the title can be played solo if you prefer, or with up to 8 other people locally or on dedicated servers. The inclusion of this game comes at a good time as well, with a big update called Void & Voltage, set to release on January 28, 2026. This is the same day the game is also set to release on the Nintendo Switch 2. It will be available on PS4 and PS5.

There is a varied mix of titles here to be sure, with Need For Speed Unbound being a game I spent a lot of time with back when it released. Hopefully, players will find something here to help kick off their new year.
