Developer Chorus Worldwide, along with publisher Toge Productions have announced that their upcoming title Coffee Talk Tokyo has been delayed from its previous release date of March 5, 2026, to May 21, 2026, a little over two months total. This news was announced via a short video from the publishers that they posted to their official YouTube channel.
In this video, framed around one of the upcoming characters in Coffee Talk Tokyo, Vin, it is stated:
The team’s working really hard, but…
They need just a little more time to make sure everything looks and feels right.
It is also said that alongside this delay, there is a “pretty little addition” that is in the works as well, that “You’ll HEAR all about soon.” Coffee Talk Tokyo was initially announced during the Nintendo Indie World Showcase back in 2024, with it finally receiving a release date during a State of Play last year.
Coffee Talk Tokyo continues the popular narrative visual novel that drew heavily from VA-11 Hall-A, trading in the liquor for coffee. In it, you play as a barista in an alternate world that is similar to the present day but mixes in mythologicaland fantasy elements both with its settings and customers. This entry draws influence from Japanese mythology, such as Yokai with characters like Kenji, a Kappa, and a Nekomimi Character as well. Alll of this while you fix drinks and get to know your customers.
In addition to a standard version of the game, a deluxe edition will also be released alongside it. The Deluxe edition will feature a 10 additional in game City Pop Tracks from returning Composure Andrew “AJ” Jeremy, a digital artbook, and the Seattle Prologue Chapter. Coffee Talk Tokyo will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch (No word on an NS2-specific version as of yet), and PC.
