Nintendo has announced they will be holding a special livestream tomorrow, on February 24, that will offer more details on two upcoming games for the Switch 2. Set to be held at 2 pm Pacific / 5 pm Eastern, the livestream will focus on Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellable Park, a re-release of the latest Mario platform title, as well as cozy life sim Pokémon Pokopia.
Both titles are set to release, with Pokopia set to release on March 5 and Super Mario Wonder to release shortly after this on March 26, exclusive to their console released last year. In the buildup, Nintendo has announced this special, dedicated Nintendo Treehouse: Livestream to discuss both titles, with the broadcast set to run roughly 80 minutes.
Super Mario Wonder was originally released for the Nintendo Switch in 2023 to critical acclaim, going on to be nominated for Game of the Year at the VGAs. This new version of the game is set to receive graphical polish along with new Bellabel Park content, which focuses on multiplayer, offering a number of cooperative and competitive minigames, playable via local wireless or online. Rosalina is also set to join the cast of Super Mario Wonder, which is timed quite nicely with her inclusion in the Super Mario Galaxy Movie, opening in theaters a week after the game’s release on April 1.
On the other hand, Pokémon Pokopia is a spin-off of the popular monster-catching series that draws some inspiration from games like Animal Crossing. The player takes the role of a Ditto that prefers to take the form of a human, who will help transform an island, recruiting additional Pokémon to help decorate the island and create a functioning community.
