The developer behind titles like Layers of Fear, Cronos: The New Dawn, and Silent Hill 2 Remake, Bloober Team is teasing some announcement that they are set to reveal in February. A countdown website with a creepy atmosphere has cropped up with Bloober Team Inc listed on it, slowly ticking away from 17 days and some change at present. This would place the announcement date for that of Valentines day, February 14, 2026. The page itself has a picture of a rose, which fits with that motif. Underneath this is some text that reads “Some things never leave the walls.…

Listen, sometimes you want to just swing a weapon around and kill everything around you in whatever radius that might be. I’ll admit, it took me a lot longer than I care to admit for me to figure out there is a certain zen in the action. Dynasty Warriors Origins, developed by Omega Force and published by Koei Tecmo, understands that, but clearly picked up from the many spin-offs over the years that maybe JUST swinging a sword and just conquering the battlefield is a little boring too. You need to have something in there to struggle against, and in…

When exactly does a franchise, a long-running series, hit its critical mass for characters? This was a question I asked myself a few times as I made my way through the prologue of The Legend of Heroes: Trails Beyond The Horizon. It feels like the cap off to the Daybreak titles, or at least an in-between game, similar to that of Reverie, bringing multiple paths through the story into convergence to both end the current arc and hint at the next. Emotionally, it took me a while to catch up to that, as the title spends the first hour bombarding…

Formula Legends was a game I was mildly intrigued by, to say the least. I try to follow F1 as closely as I can, despite the time differences, and the F1 games, despite my not buying every single one, do rank among the most fun in racing, at least in my mind, when you want to split the difference between a sim and arcade racing on a circuit track. Last year, there were also a few cute indie racers that kept my attention as well, like Chase Horizon 2, which I finally got around to. In this vein, I think…

Let me start by prefacing that I have never actually watched Fairy Tail, so I had very little to go by when entering Fairy Tail Dungeons. I have had some people tell me I should, others who tell me I absolutely shouldn’t, and, on a personal level, I just don’t truly enjoy shōnen anime. The point here is that I didn’t genuinely have context coming into this game apart from, as people have told me, Fairy Tail has a lot of fan service. A weird singular point to know, given the game has virtually zero fan service. The narrative, for…

After several years of waiting since the first teaser trailer was showcased back in 2020, Playground Games has finally given players their first deep look at their upcoming RPG, Fable, a reboot of the classic series from Lionhead Studios. Interestingly enough, the game does look set to draw a lot from the classic game series, with much of what they showcased during the Xbox Developer Direct. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JitTtPb6U0U The game takes a look at the moral question of what it means to be a Hero, and similar to the original trilogy, will begin with the player character as a child. Not…

Game Freak shocked a lot of gamers while, in the buildup to Pokémon ZA they also announced Beast of Reincarnation, a high fidelity title for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. The title, which looked similar to Capcom’s series Monster Hunter at first glance, was given very little context beyond what could be expected. During the Xbox Developer direct we got another, much deeper look at what is actually going on in this gorgeous new IP. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fZhVp4nVgw Beast of Reincarnation is set in a post-apocalyptic future version of Japan, where the world is overrun by a parasite known as the blight. This…

Announced last year during the Tokyo Games Show, we knew Forza Horizon 6 was heading to Japan, but not much else. Today, during the Xbox Developer Direct, we now know a lot more about what to expect as players race their way across the home of the rising sun, including just how much urban driving through Tokyo will factor into the experience. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGb-5hRwhn0 In Forza Horizon 6, players will not take the role of an established racer joining the titular Forza Horizon festival as we have seen in past iterations of the series. Instead of starting as a tourist who…

Developer Pearl Abyss has announced that its upcoming title, Crimson Desert, has officially gone gold for its release date on March 19, 2026. The title will release across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC on that day. Pearl Abyss has described going gold as a “major development milestone” for the open-world Action game, which was first announced back in 2020. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZdmoGYg8tB0 Earlier this month, Pearl Abyss had described the game’s open world as being “Absolutely massive,” comparing it in size to the worlds of Skyrim and Red Dead Redemption 2, stating it is bigger than even those. Speaking with the Gaming…
