During SXSW 2025 in Austin, Texas, developer Hideo Kojima took to the stage to showcase his awaited sequel to the initially PlayStation exclusive game Death Stranding, the first game developed by his studio Kojima Productions after Kojima parted ways with Konami back in 2015 after nearly 30 years with the publisher. Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, as it is titled, was not only given another trailer showcasing the game but finally unveiled a release date confirming that the game will release this year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eT_A2gPhTIw Similar to previous trailers for both games in the series, it is easy to get more…
Among the genres I tend to get lost in on a regular basis, farming games and cozy titles tend to take the cake. Between any big-name release, I will usually fall back into Story of Seasons, Coral Island, Rune Factory, or now, Fields of Mistria. I have been playing this genre since I was a child, so I’m watching the influx of developers interested in trying to replicate the success of Stardew Valley or have their relaxation title where there are no winners or losers, just happy little plants growing in your happy little garden. I was really hoping Sugardew…
The Like A Dragon series continues to be a series that can retread itself with relatively expert ease, and nowhere is this ability showcased better than in their latest outing with Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. Despite the biggest promise made in RGG Studios’ latest outing being a return to the Honolulu location that the players no doubt spent hours, perhaps collective days in, it is easy to think that the game would fall into the funk of feeling like a rehash. Indeed, much of the map remains the same, the minigames for the most part return untouched,…
Microsoft has announced that the upcoming revival of their popular RPG series Fable will now be released in 2026, having previously been slated for sometime in 2025 though with no concrete timeframe. Alongside this announcement, however, Microsoft has released a brand new look at the game with Pre-Alpha gameplay footage. Fable is set to continue the now-defunct Lionhead Studios series and is being developed by Forza Horizon Studio Playground Games. The series has not seen a new mainline entry since Fable 3 was released in 2010, though it has received some tie-in titles since such as a Kinect title, as…
Bloober Team, the developer behind the critically and commercially successful Silent Hill 2 Remake, has announced they have signed a deal with Konami to develop an additional game following the success of their first collaboration with the Publisher. Neither Bloober Team nor Konami have stated what this new game is or the franchise it will be part of at this time. Bloober has a track record of developing horror titles, best known up to this point for games such as Layers of Fear and Blair Witch, and has previously expressed interest in developing more Silent Hill titles such as additional…
Toys ‘R’ Us filed for bankruptcy in 2017 before returning in a limited capacity years later. Even before that though the company didn’t have the relevant position it used to when video games were considered toys, rather than an industry. After all, it was over 50 years ago that Nintendo decided to market its home entertainment system in the boy’s aisle of the toy section, influencing not the trajectory of gaming that remained well into PlayStation’s life cycle of gaming, some might say it remains. For a young me, Toy’s ‘R’ Us was the place to go if you wanted…

*Disclaimer* I did not receive compensation in any way for my opinions held within. NHK World News has become a near and dear source of enjoyment in my life over the past few years, and while I can get sucked into almost anything on there, one show has started standing out. In it, a documentary crew goes to a random place like a 24-hour laundry, or a cafe, right now while I am writing this they are talking about a shrine that takes care of stray cats. For 72 hours they document these things, the people that come and go,…
Microsoft has announced that Forza Horizon 5, Xbox’s flagship open-world racing game, will make its debut on the PlayStation 5 in the Spring of this year. This is another game to break the confines of the Xbox platform to its lead competitor’s platform following several titles like Hi-Fi Rush last year. This announcement was made by developers Playground Games and Turn 10 Studio. It was additionally announced that the PlayStation 5 version of the game will be developed by port studio Panic Button, best known for bringing games like Apex Legends, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, and Doom Eternal to…
Date Everything, the quirky upcoming romance game where you indeed do date everything, even the things that are nailed down, has been delayed from its planned release date of February 14th to June. This delay was announced as part of a statement from developer Sassy Chap Games as they are hard at work finishing the title. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dc1qvmow5oQ In a statement from the Lead Designer on the project Ray Chase, he stated: I was too confident that we could properly test ALL the wild amount of content and pathing that exists in this massive game, and unfortunately we ran out of…
