It’s hard to look back on the effect that Stardew Valley had on the farming sim genre, which wasn’t limited to one game prior, but mostly ran through Harvest Moon. Mark Gerhard, co-CEO of Build A Rocket Boy, recently responded to what he felt was a deliberate attempt by the media to “Trash” the studio’s upcoming game, MindsEye. Ubisoft has dropped somewhat of a tease concerning their long-dormant series Splinter Cell that is sure to create buzz, though for what is anybody’s guess. Elden Ring: Nightreign, the co-op PvE spin-off to FromSoftware’s game of the year-winning game, has sold 2 million copies in a day of sales. As announced by Bandai Namco, “Pre-orders and early sales have pushed the game beyond the incredible 2 million units milestone,” the publisher stated. Releasing overnight, the multiplayer title reached a peak concurrent player count of 313,593 on Steam. Pokémon Legends Z-A, the upcoming Sequel to the franchise spin-off Pokémon Legends: Arceus, from Game Freak and Nintendo, has received a release date of October 16, 2025. Nintendo has released a surprise update for its popular life-sim game Animal Crossing: New Horizons. While not a particularly exciting one, it is worth noting that this is the first update the game has received in three years. In the patch notes for the update, which was released on May 27th, it is stated that this “improved the compatibility for multiplayer sessions between Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch.” What this improved compatibility means is not specified, and we will not get a clearer picture till the Nintendo Switch 2 releases on June 5. Square Enix has announced for Dragon Quest Day that the upcoming Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake, the remaining two games in the original Dragon Quest trilogy, set to be released, will be available on October 30, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series.
