Developer CD Projekt has a secret expansion in the works for their game-of-the-year-winning title, The Witcher III: Wild Hunt, various reports have suggested. This is not the first time the 2015 title has been suggested to be set to receive content, with reports coming out online last summer, with Polish games insider Borys Nieśpielak being the first to outline some details of a supposed expansion in the works. Then, Nieśpielak had stated that the development of the project was being handled by Fool’s Theory, the same studio being tasked with the remake of the original The Witcher game. Today, in…
Nintendo has stated that the company was unwilling to backtrack on the design of the open-world hub featured in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. This was despite seeing a “Changed” attitude towards open-world games by gamers, owing in part to the fact that the game had already been rebooted once up to this point. The long awaited follow up to the Metroid Prime series was released in December for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, receiving mostly positive reviews. Amid even the more positive reviews, there were some criticisms lodged against characters, particularly one sidekick character, as well as the…
Sony has announced the PlayStation Plus lineup for January 2026, which will kick off the new year for the platform. The three games honestly could not be more different, featuring Need For Speed Unbound, Disney Epic Mickey Rebrushed, and Core Keeper. These titles will be made available starting on January 6 and will be up until February 2. This means that you only have a few more days to grab the December titles, which include Killing Floor III and Synduality, before they return to normal prices. More details on all of this are available through the PlayStation Blog. Need For…
IO Interactive has announced that their upcoming game, 007: First Light, will be delayed an additional two months to allow the team time for “further polish” to the experience. The James Bond-led action title was originally intended for release on March 27, 2026, but is now set to release on May 27, 2026. In a statement published by developer IO, this move was made to allow for “the strongest possible version at launch.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nTUoIyTMw0Q Interestingly, this new release date for 007: First Light is only a day after the formerly planned release date for Grand Theft Auto VI, which is…
Cronos: The New Dawn, developed by Bloober Team, the studio behind the Silent Hill 2 Remake, has received some criticism since its launch due to the game’s difficulty. While difficulty spikes are to be expected in the Survival Horror genre, some places just want to revel in the oppressively bleak atmosphere and narrative, a point that has been hammered home multiple times this year. Thankfully, Bloober Team has announced that the title will be getting an easy mode for players who don’t want to struggle as much. Scheduled for early 2026, the mode is entitled the Temporal Diver Mode, which will…
According to a new report, developer Naughty Dog has employees at their studio working on their upcoming game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, an extra eight hours per week, aiming to complete an internal demo by a deadline so that Sony can review it. This news comes according to a report by Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, which claimed that in late October, developers on Intergalactic have been required to work these extra eight hours, with staff not allowed to go over a full 60 hours a week total, and keep a record of this in internal spreadsheets. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLGy63pt9vA&t=3s Developers affected by this have also been asked…
Dispatch, the narrative Superhero Comedy from developer AdHoc Studio, has been listed for pre-order across the Nintendo eShop for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. There has been no official word from Adhoc about this as of yet, but the listing has appeared in Australia with a release date of January 29, 2026. Weirdly enough, this is the second time something similar has happened this year, with the Silent Hill 2 Remake for the Xbox Series also gaining attention through an Australian listing on the platform. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PzRQrDK7zUs For players who own a Nintendo Switch 2, a free upgrade for…
Team Cherry, the developer behind Game of the Year nominee Hollow Knight: Silksong, has announced plans for the next year of the title, which includes a new expansion to the game, named Sea of Sorrow, coming sometime in 2026. This news was announced via a teaser trailer for the expansion, which doesn’t explain too much, but doesn’t need to, given the over seven million copies sold since the game was released in September. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDFEeeLy6ws&t=35s This expansion will feature new areas, new bosses, new tools for Hornet to use, and more. What we can glean from the trailer, as well as…
Developer Larian took to the stage at the Video Game Awards last week to announce that the next project they are working on after their hugely popular Baldur’s Gate III, is a return in some kind to their previous franchise. Announced simply as Divinity, the game is a follow-up to the Divinity Series, which was last released in 2017 with Divinity: Original Sin II. Following closely after the announcement of this new entry, the studio has announced a free update for Original Sin II, meant to bring the game in line with modern consoles. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_K_vKMo7DEI This announcement was made in…
Developer Chinese Room has released its first dev diary since the release of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 back in October. The diary outlines the upcoming Winter Update for the game, showcasing that the title will at least have some post-launch support beyond the planned expansions that are slated for next year, despite the poor performance of the title financially, as well as the mixed reviews. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzoQoVaVgMI The biggest thing that the Winter Update offers Bloodlines 2 is a new, custom difficulty mode that players will be able to access alongside the four difficulties already available. The mode requires…
