Bandai Namco has confirmed that they will be holding a Summer Showcase on July 2, at 12 PM PT/3 PM ET/ 9 PM CEST/ and 4 AM JST. While there is a lot to showcase during this event, the publisher and developer have released a teaser trailer showcasing just some of what players can expect to see when they hold the event.
The biggest announcement during the trailer is that My Hero Academia, the popular anime series, will be receiving a new game. The last title released based on the series was My Hero Ultimate Rumble in 2023, a free-to-play battle royale game where players pick between some of their favorite heroes and battle against teams of three. There is no announcement if this new title will incorporate elements of the My Hero spin-off series, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, which just released its anime in April of this year. The trailer does show images of the main series lead Deku during this announcement, which implies it will at least focus on those characters.
The other games to get specifically showcased in the teaser include Bandai Namco’s upcoming roguelike Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree, which was announced during Summer Games Fest earlier this month. Digimon Time Stranger will also receive a deep diver during this Showcase.
Titles mentioned to be showcased, but with no specifics on how, include Code Vein II, The Blood of Dawnwalker, Death Note Killer Within, Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots, Little Nightmares III, Patapon 1+2 Replay, Shadow Labrynth, Super Robot Wars Y, and Tekken 8. Though there is no mention of a new Tales game in this trailer at all, the last title in the series, Tales of Arise, released in 2021, making us long overdue for the next entry in the series. This being said, there is already a lot to be excited to see during the event on July 2.
