Hideo Kojima Reveals All New Trailer for ‘OD: KNOCK’

Hideo Kojima, creator of the well-known Death Stranding and Metal Gear Solid series, just showed us a sneak peek of an all-new horror game called OD: KNOCK. Along with many other announcements, he released a trailer at his 10th Anniversary of Leaving Konami for the game. First announced at The Game Awards 2023, this is the first actual look at what the game looks like.

What we know from the trailer

To start, the trailer given was very cinematic. Showing us nothing but two small scenes in two different rooms, it brings forth an ominous suspense. During such, they give us partially redacted and vague quotes of exposition. The redacted quotes from the trailer are as follows:

    • 10 YEARS SINCE THE [REDACTED] HORROR [REDACTED], “[REDACTED]” THE CURSED [REDACTED] HAVE ONCE AGAIN [REDACTED] INTO THE FORBIDDEN.
    • LIGHT THE FIRES TO CELEBRATE THEIR [REDACTED]
    • THIS BUILDING WAS [REDACTED] FROM A 3D SCAN OF AN [REDACTED] FOUND IN AN [REDACTED]
    • AND THEN, [REDACTED] WERE [REDACTED] IN A SINISTER RITUAL.

The teaser starts with a red card sliding through a lone door. It then cuts to black, revealing the first quote. Immediately after, we see someone suddenly flip the card over to reveal the second quote. We are then led back to a black cut with the last two quotes, leading into a scene where we light candles for what we can assume are “THE FIRES TO CELEBRATE THEIR [REDACTED].” The camera then flips, revealing large, pale hands laid on both sides of Sydney Novak’s face (played by Sophia Lillis). The trailer then concludes with a horrific shriek, revealing the billing blocks and a call to “ALL PLAYERS AND SCREAMERS.”

Another aspect worth looking at is the text. They’ve capitalized everything, including the entire title OD: KNOCK. Could there be a meaning to this, or was it just a creative choice? For now, it’s up to the community to find the answer.

    Who’s involved

This project is also a collaboration between Xbox, Jordan Peele, and Hideo Kojima – starring Sophia Lillis as the main character. Hunter Schafer and Udo Kier will also play two other characters. With such a famous team, the game is sure to attract fans of both film and gaming alike. After Hideo’s first official teaser in 2023, fans are excited to finally see what a horror game from Kojima can really look like!

    Afterword

OD: KNOCK – an eerie new horror game from Hideo Kojima, Jordan Peele, and Xbox – has officially received a game trailer. Featuring Sophia Lillis, Hunter Schafer, and Udo Kier, the anticipation horror and gaming fans have for this game is off the charts! That said, they have revealed very limited information. More insights on updates and announcements from the creators will be added to future posts on pixelbytegaming.com accordingly.
