It would seem that the title for the upcoming Xbox Exclusive Indiana Jones game has leaked due to video game researcher Kurakasis. The game is being developed by MachineGames, probably most well-known for their reboot of the Wolfenstein series, with this new title originally planned for wider release before Bethesda was acquired by Microsoft in 2021.
Kurakasis shared this discovery on Twitter, suggesting that the title will be called Indiana Jones And The Great Circle. Lucasfilm registered several domain names on January 9th, 2024 with the same name, strongly implying that this will ultimately be the title of the game ahead of its impending unveiling during the Xbox Developer Direct, set for January 18th.
It should also be noted that ‘The Great Circle’ independent of a core title was registered during the Summer of 2022 by Lucasfilms. At the time many fans suggested it as a potential title for a future Star Wars project. Honestly, given the vague nature of a great circle, the title could still easily work for both.
Given the distance from an actual announcement we are, and factoring in movements by Lucasfilm, this seems likely to be the official title of the Indiana Jones Game. There is, as always, a possibility that this is some kind of smokescreen or that the company is making other plans and the timing just happened to overlap.
Regardless, all speculation will end once the game is finally given its first look, and deep dive, during the Developer’s Direct on the 18th. While Microsoft has spent the past few years acquiring studios and First Party titles, Indiana Jones’s new outing promises to be one of the more anticipated titles coming to the system, potentially this year.
