Kumi Souls Games has finally announced a release date for one of my most anticipated indie titles this year, The Last Faith. The game was announced years ago, with trailers being released during Summer Game Fest, and again during Gamescom to announce the games beta on Steam.
While we knew, or at least were told, the game was going to release before the end of 2023 it would appear the studio is following through. The date for release is November 15th, a little over a month away from now.
The Last Faith is a Metroidvania Soulslike that looks poised to blend the gothic vibes and fast-paced combat of the classic Castlevania franchise, with the punishing combat of games like Salt & Sanctuary or Blashphemous. A press event for the game gives a more detailed breakdown of the title, saying.
Often brutal, but always empowering, The Last Faith thrives on merciless and precise combat, with a huge range of custom executions to perform. Players will unearth a formidable variety of melee weapons, arcane spells, and long-range firearms, allowing them to carve a path in their own style.
Explore rich, gothic environments in order to piece together the fractured history of Mythringal, and survive intense encounters against swathes of blood-thirsty enemies who will stop at nothing to put an end to Eryk.
If you are a PC player who is looking to try the game out and dying now, there is an extended demo available on Steam. Kumi Soul Games has stated this demo should give players a good look at Mythringal’s brutal environment.
The Last Faith will be available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
