Lies of P, a souls-like action game developed by South Korean-based developer Round 8 Studios, has received another trailer for Overture, its first DLC expansion. In addition, it was announced that the anticipated DLC would be available today, so players can start their endless cycle of death and rebirth as soon as they want.
Lies of P acted as a dark retelling of the story of Pinocchio, as an android-like puppet in a Bella Époque-style city. The twist to the traditional story, in which the boy’s nose grew when he lied, instead saw his creator, Geppetto, give him the ability to tell lies, a mechanic that comes into play as you fight your way through a city that has fallen into chaos. Ultimately, his goal is to find his creator and possibly save the city.
The expansion takes place prior to the events of the core game, set during the final days of the city of Krat, where the main game is set. It will feature several locations like the carnival that is now operational, rather than the deserted death trap you once experienced it. Stalkers, such as the character of Lea from the base game, will also play a pivotal role in the narrative, exploring their relationship to the lead character.
Lie of P was also enhanced for the PlayStation 5 Pro, marking another good reason to jump back into it. Developer Round 8 Studio, in addition to developing Overture, has stated that they have a new Sci-Fi game in development. Not much is known about the title currently, but it will release for both Consoles and PC and will be built in Unreal Engine 5, similar to games like the upcoming The Witcher IV.
