Don’t Nod has announced that their upcoming narrative-driven game Lost Records: Bloom & Rage will experience a bit of a delay, though only by a month. The title, though not officially related to the Square Enix-published Life is Strange, as well as Xbox-published Tell Me Why games that they also Developed and Created, looks to share many of the same characteristics with both titles.
While not a fully episodic title like previous games, Lost Records planned to harken back to that era, releasing in two parts, which were referred to as tapes. These titles were slated to release a month apart with the first tape set for February 18th, and the second planned for March 18th respectively. This was always a much cleaner episodic release to titles like the 5-part Life is Strange which was released across a year after several parts were delayed.
Fans who were excited to pick Lost Records up in February don’t have to be concerned as the first part is still set for February, however, it is Tape 2 the company has stated they need more time on, delaying it to April 15th. In a statement from the studio posted on X it was said this time is required for “extra time to optimize.” In an official FAQ, the company addressed this delay, saying:
We feel that this extra time is necessary to ensure we deliver the experience players and fans deserve. We are confident that this delay will allow us to provide you with a richer experience and we can’t wait for you to live the full journey of Swann, Nora, Autumn, and Kat. In the meantime, we have a little something up our sleeves on social media to keep you entertained in the time between the two Tapes—stay tuned!
Additionally, Don’t Nod studio has given a price for the title, saying it will cost $39.99 / £35.89 / €39.99 when it releases. This includes both the cost from Tape 1: Bloom, as well as Tape 2: Rage, which will be a free update to the title upon its release. It has also been stated that Don’t Nod has partnered with Maximum Entertainment on the production of a physical release for PlayStation 5 only that will be available in summer 2025 though it is available for preorder now. A 10 percent launch discount will be available when it is released in February digitally.
Lost Records: Bloom & Rage will again be available on February 18th for Tape 1: Bloom, and April 15th for Tape 2: Rage. They will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Steam for PC.
