Ninja Theory has announced that Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II is headed to PlayStation 5 later this summer. This news was announced on Wednesday, May 21, the one year anniversary of the game’s initial release on Xbox Series and PC. In addition to being the latest first-party Xbox title to set a course for PlayStation, it was announced that the port will feature “new features that will also be coming to Xbox and PC at the same time as an update.”

Dom Matthews, the studio head of Ninja Theory, announced this news, though he did not give any specifics about the enhanced features players can expect (It already has a pretty great photo mode, so we know it’s not that). No further date for the game was given other than summer, though it is available to Wishlist on PlayStation, where it is stated to be “optimized for PlayStation 5, and PS5 Pro Enhanced,” as well as featuring “immersive haptic feedback for new ways to experience.”

Ninja Theory has had a pretty lengthy history with Sony and PlayStation, having developed Heavenly Sword in 2007 as a PlayStation 3 exclusive. The original title in the Hellblade series, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, was also released as a PlayStation 4 console exclusive. Microsoft acquired the company the following year, in 2018. Ninja Theory also developed a reboot of Devil May Cry during the nearly decade-long drought between IV and V, with theirs being titled DMC: Devil May Cry.

This is not the only title Xbox has announced that is coming to the PlayStation 5 this year, as Gears of War: Reloaded, a remaster of the original game, is also arriving on the platform later this year. Popular Xbox games such as Indiana Jones And The Great Circle and Forza Horizon 5 have already been ported to PlayStation 5 this year, seeing both of them topping the PlayStation charts.
