Silent Hill Townfall Receives New Trailer And Showcase

Silent Hill Townfall, the next spin-off in the Silent Hill franchise, received a new trailer during PlayStation’s State of Play broadcast, along with more information concerning gameplay during a Silent Hill Transmission following the event. The game is being developed by Screen Burn Interactive, a Glasgow-based studio, with Annapurna Interactive and Konami Digital Entertainment serving as joint publishers.

The game will feature players taking the role of Simon Ordell, who continues to find himself waking up in the sea near the town of St. Amelia. In this, action and exploration will play out in a first-person perspective as players traverse and fight the fog-covered town in an attempt to solve the deepening mystery that brought Ordell there.

Similar to the most recent game in the series, Silent Hill f, the lore of Silent Hill will be furthered beyond the traditional American setting with St. Amelia being set in or around Scotland, where the studio is based, using local fishing villages as inspiration for the setting. This comes shortly after f writer Ryukishi07 stated that series producer Motoi Okamoto described Silent Hill to him as a phenomenon rather than a specific town. This isn’t exactly new, but an important clarification given that the most recent two games feature locations like Japan and Scotland, and do not actually feature a physical Silent Hill setting.

While Annapurna Interactive is known for publishing indie titles, they have made clear that Silent Hill Townfall will feature a full experience on par with other Silent Hill games. The gameplay will feature a lot of stealth, with a lean mechanic to track monsters around your location. There will also be combat, with players getting a mix of both melee and firearms to aid in their survival. Instead of the typical radio, players will also have a portable CRT TV that they can use to find hidden elements and enemies.

Silent Hill Townfall is slated to release sometime in 2026 with no official release date as of yet. It is set to release on PlayStation 5 and PC.
