Tales of Berseria Remastered Announced From Namco Bandai

Only a month after Tales of Xilla Remastered was released, Namco Bandai has announced the next in their growing number of older games in the series to get that same treatment, this time PlayStation 4 title Tales of Berseria Remastered. The remaster is scheduled to release on February 26, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and PC, and for the first time, on the Xbox Series S/X and Nintendo Switch.

Interestingly enough, while Tales of Beseria was well-received and self-contained, it is part of a two-game arc with the previously released title in the series, Tales of Zestiria, serving as a prequel and somewhat narrative setup to the lore that would be featured in the former game. Zestiria, for its part, heavily altered combat from previous games, the gimmick being that two characters were forced to be in your party while the others needed to be tethered to them. This, in part, led to mixed reviews upon release and arguably aided Tales of Berseria to fare better, due to a darker, more concise story and course correction on combat.

This is notable at least, due to both Tales of Symphonia and Tales of Xilia receiving the remaster treatment as well, with their sequels still untouched at present, with Namco Bandai at best vaguely stating they hear fan requests for sequels to get remastered but not comment on if they plan to. It should be noted that Tales of Symponia did receive a remaster on the PS3 that included both games, but the latter was dropped from the PS4 release. Here, though, both parts are named entries in the series, rather than acting as an additional entry, which might create more reason to remaster the former entry. Of course, both are available in most places either through backward compatibility or accessibility.

Namco Bandai stated in a press release:

Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. today announced that Tales of Berseria Remastered, an enhanced version of the beloved action RPG, will launch worldwide on February 27, 2026. The remastered title levels up a memorable entry in the TALES series for current platforms, letting players experience an epic tale with new game play and quality-of-life features.  Tales of Berseria™ Remastered is available now for pre-order on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.

In Tales of Berseria Remastered, players will follow the journey of Velvet Crowe as she embarks on a journey of vengeance and uncovers the mystery behind her brother’s murder. Players will embark on a tale torn between emotion and reason, where Velvet and her comrades slash through everyone in their path and navigate through emotional bonds and betrayal.

Tales of Berseria Remastered is a remastered version of TALES OF BERSERIA, first released in 2016. The remastered title features notable quality of life enhancements such as early access to the Grade Shop, destination icons, and the ability to toggle encounters. The title also features also includes downloadable content from the original release, featuring character costumes, bonus items, and other fan-favorite extras.

Two versions of the game will be available for pre-order, with the standard edition of the game being $39.99. A deluxe edition of the game will cost $59.99 and will include a Digital Artbook, Digital Soundtrack, super growth herb set, and a battle BMG pack. As a pre-order bonus, players will receive a Super Adventuring Assistance Set featuring multiple healing items to get them started on their journey.
