Publishers Paradox and White Wolf, in conjunction with developer The Chinese Room, have backtracked on their plans to release two playable clans as Day One DLC, instead, making them part of the base game upon launch. The Lasombra and Toreador clans were initially planned to be released on Day 1 alongside the launch of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodline 2, as part of a $21.99 DLC content pack that was met with backlash among fans.
This shake-up to the launch plans for the title was announced today by The Chinese Room, along with the announcement that two additional story packs, entitled Loose Cannon and The Flower & the Flame, will be part of the Expansion pass for the game, released in 2026. Alongside this news comes a new overview trailer that gives players a far deeper look at the game’s RPG elements and exploration than we have seen up to this point.
White Wolf executive vice president and Bloodlines 2 executive producer Marco Behrmann stated:
Thanks to our community for the frank feedback on Bloodlines 2 and the Premium Edition. That feedback made it clear: Lasombra and Toreador belong in the base game, so that is what we are doing. We’d also like to thank The Chinese Room for their quick turnaround on the concepts for the post-launch Story Packs. We’re constantly impressed by their creativity and skill in weaving enticing narrative threads that expand on the main story in Bloodlines 2.
Paradox has stated that the Loose Cannon and The Flower & the Flame content will be available as part of the Expansion Pass, which will be available individually for $34.99, or as part of the premium edition of the game. Loose Cannon is stated to release in Q2 2026, with The Flower & the Flame slated for Q3 2026.

The official description of these packs states:
The story continues with the Story Packs, each centering on a key Camarilla character from Phyre’s journey: Sheriff Benny and Primogen Ysabella. These packs deepen Phyre’s story and reveal Seattle’s World of Darkness through their eyes, offering fresh insights into their motivations and new angles on the city’s hidden power struggles.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will release on October 21, 2025, and will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. The game has had a lengthy 6-year development, which was started under Hardsuit Labs back in 2018, who were later removed from the project, with developer The Chinese Room being brought on to ultimately finish development.
