Wolverine – How To Upgrade Your Health And Unlock New Suits

Marvel’s Wolverine lets you upgrade the titular character as you progress through the game, which isn’t unexpected. That said, despite having a skill tree and a mutation menu, both offering meaningful systems in their own right, upgrading Wolverine’s health is not present here and, in fact tied to another system entirely: the character’s costume menu. While you can expect most superhero games to offer a selection of outfits from a character’s storied history, buffing the player’s health bar isn’t typically tied to that, which makes for interesting progression.

The player unlocks the ability to earn new suits in the chapter “Homecoming” in Canada. In it, Walter tasks Wolverine with finding two crates as part of the story, gaining 50 materials from each so that Walter can finish a suit design he is working on. This will earn players the Suit Up trophy for crafting one suit. These crates can then be found in each level, with a noise indicator (three rings moving towards their location) to purchase new suits.

The more suits you buy, the more health you unlock until the bar itself matches the rage meter below it. Health increases are unlocked at the following points:

The game has more suits than are associated with health available to unlock, but upon earning suit number 20, you will unlock the Adamantium Armory trophy for fully upgrading your health. While earning other trophies might unlock a new suit, this is the last trophy specifically associated with your costumes and is earned for fully upgrading your health. You will earn a few suits through main story progression as well that count towards this, with the brunt of the ones counting towards this needing to be unlocked. Digital Deluxe costumes do not count towards this goal.
