One of the main advertised features of Forza Horizon 6 was the shifting seasons that would change the Japanese locale. Now that the game is out, and we are finally free to race the streets of Tokyo City and its surrounding countryside, you might have noticed that the game is currently in Spring, with Cherry Blossoms in full bloom. You might be wondering, though, how to change seasons? The short answer is you don’t.

Forza Horizon 6 Season Schedule
Forza Horizon 6 features seasons on a rotation schedule, with them changing each week on Thursday. Not only does the opportunity to experience races differently, such as a snow-covered Tokyo City in winter or Cherry Blossom-covered streets in spring, but certain activities will be tied to these changes, allowing for the opportunity to earn rewards and cars.
The Season rotation will officially start on May 21, 2016, coinciding with the start of the first Festival Playlist, which has 10 cars that can be unlocked and runs until June 18. From there, though, this rotation will occur every week. The current schedule is listed below:
- May 21: Summer
- May 28: Autumn
- June 4: Winter
- June 11: Spring
You cannot force seasons to change in the main game, though you can experience different seasons outside of rotation by setting up a custom race in The Blueprint and Eventlabs feature. This will not affect the game outside of those specific races, though.
When a season is about to transition, a timer will appear at the top of the screen, counting down until it reaches 0, then the game will reload with that new season. The current regional times in which this occurs will be listed below as well:
- 7:30 a.m. PDT (West Coast, North America)
- 10:30 a.m. EDT (East Coast, North America)
- 11:30 a.m. BRT (Brazil)
- 3:30 p.m. BST (U.K.)
- 4:30 p.m. CEST (Western Europe)
- 11:30 p.m. JST (Japan)
- 12:30 a.m. AEST on Friday (East Coast, Australia)
While there are no inherent changes to the map layout itself, each season will bring with it a slightly altered main map in your Menu function. Events and challenges available each season will offer the chance to earn cars, cosmetics, and credits to further your racing journey across Japan.
