Sony Announces State of Play Broadcast For This Week

Sony has announced that they will be streaming a major State of Play broadcast later this week, which will feature over an hour of new reveals featuring first and third-party studios. The event will be held on February 12 at 2 PM Pacific / 5 PM Eastern time.

A new State of Play airs February 12.

    — PlayStation (@PlayStation) February 9, 2026

Sony’s last major State of Play was held back in September of last year, an event that finally gave fans a more in-depth look at Insomniac Games’ upcoming Wolverine title. Other games showcased during that event were HouseMarque’s upcoming game Saros, as well as Team Ninja’s recently released Nioh 3. With 60 minutes dedicated to games, this next event looks set to offer a decent look at what’s to come for PlayStation players.

Beyond the two games mentioned above, there are a few other games we could see pop up here. Bungie’s long-delayed Marathon is set to release on March 5, but we could see another trailer or some gameplay here. PlayStation also has Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls from developer Arc System Works, set to release this year. The title does not yet have a release date, so perhaps we will get one here. A PlayStation-branded fight stick was also announced alongside this game, which has yet to get a date.

This State of Play comes after both Nintendo and Xbox held similar events, as these companies often do to set the tone of the year to come. Capcom showcased during the Nintendo event, Monster Hunter Stories 3, Pragmata, and Resident Evil Requiem all of which coming to the PS5 in the next few months as well, all of which could be showcased. Personally, I would like to see Fair Games pop up here, as one of the games that survived the mass cancelling of several live-service games performed by Sony a few years ago, and yet has been quiet since.

Either way, we are set to learn a lot more on February 12, when Sony airs this State of Play. We will be covering it when it does.
