Capcom has had stronger performances already this year with titles like Resident Evil Requiem and Pragmata, but we knew that those were not the end as Onimusha: Way of the Sword was also slated for this year, though without a release date. After a lot of waiting, during the Sony State of Play, a release date was finally showcased for the reboot of Capcoms classic samurai action series.
This latest gameplay footage from the title explores a region known as Mount Oe, which is located outside of Kyoto. Here we see a genma who claims to be Shuten Doji, a feared and legendary Oni, make his garrison. Miyamoto Musashi then arrives on the scene to fight this demon threat, carving his way against enemies with his quick speed and strength. Near the end of the trailer we also get a glimpse of him using every bit of stregth he has to transform into an Oni Warrior.
