Critically acclaimed sequel Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is out now for Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox. A new content update is also available.
Considered one of the best games of 2024, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is out today on Nintendo Switch and Xbox. The award-winning sequel to Final Fantasy VII Remake, this reimagining of the 1997 seminal JRPG takes the story to new heights. With high-fidelity recreations such as the classic amusement park Gold Saucer and its trove of minigames, it is a modern classic if there ever was one. A demo is playable now for free. Additionally, a feature for players to have an easier time is available on all platforms.
Dubbed the “Streamlined Progression” feature, this option makes it easier than ever for players to jump into the adventure. First introduced in Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, this optional feature can grant unlimited HP, MP, and ATB gauge during battles, and more to streamline gameplay. This allows players to spend more time playing Queen’s Blood, a card game that proved a hit with fans. Various other smaller minigames, like a Rocket League-inspired game, are encountered in the gameplay.

The story of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth picks up right where Remake left off. Cloud, Tifa, Barrett, Red XIII, and Aerith are on the run from the Shinra Corporation. Exploring vibrant open-world biomes full of deadly enemies and rewarding environments, this sprawling narrative expands the first game greatly. With higher stakes against legendary antagonist Sephiroth, a slew of new companions will spice up the journey. These include spirited ninja operative Yuffie and the wisecracking feline Cait Sith.
Boasting one of the most memorable soundtracks in gaming, it is an unforgettable tale of friendship, environmentalism, and grief. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is out now for Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, PlayStation 5, and PC. The third and final entry is still in production.
