According to a new report, developer Naughty Dog has employees at their studio working on their upcoming game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, an extra eight hours per week, aiming to complete an internal demo by a deadline so that Sony can review it. This news comes according to a report by Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, which claimed that in late October, developers on Intergalactic have been required to work these extra eight hours, with staff not allowed to go over a full 60 hours a week total, and keep a record of this in internal spreadsheets. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLGy63pt9vA&t=3s Developers affected by this have also been asked…
Dispatch, the narrative Superhero Comedy from developer AdHoc Studio, has been listed for pre-order across the Nintendo eShop for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. There has been no official word from Adhoc about this as of yet, but the listing has appeared in Australia with a release date of January 29, 2026. Weirdly enough, this is the second time something similar has happened this year, with the Silent Hill 2 Remake for the Xbox Series also gaining attention through an Australian listing on the platform. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PzRQrDK7zUs For players who own a Nintendo Switch 2, a free upgrade for…
Team Cherry, the developer behind Game of the Year nominee Hollow Knight: Silksong, has announced plans for the next year of the title, which includes a new expansion to the game, named Sea of Sorrow, coming sometime in 2026. This news was announced via a teaser trailer for the expansion, which doesn’t explain too much, but doesn’t need to, given the over seven million copies sold since the game was released in September. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDFEeeLy6ws&t=35s This expansion will feature new areas, new bosses, new tools for Hornet to use, and more. What we can glean from the trailer, as well as…
Developer Larian took to the stage at the Video Game Awards last week to announce that the next project they are working on after their hugely popular Baldur’s Gate III, is a return in some kind to their previous franchise. Announced simply as Divinity, the game is a follow-up to the Divinity Series, which was last released in 2017 with Divinity: Original Sin II. Following closely after the announcement of this new entry, the studio has announced a free update for Original Sin II, meant to bring the game in line with modern consoles. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_K_vKMo7DEI This announcement was made in…
Developer Chinese Room has released its first dev diary since the release of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 back in October. The diary outlines the upcoming Winter Update for the game, showcasing that the title will at least have some post-launch support beyond the planned expansions that are slated for next year, despite the poor performance of the title financially, as well as the mixed reviews. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzoQoVaVgMI The biggest thing that the Winter Update offers Bloodlines 2 is a new, custom difficulty mode that players will be able to access alongside the four difficulties already available. The mode requires…
Phantom Blade Zero, the upcoming action game from Chinese developer S-GAME Studio, has a 12-month console exclusivity window with the PlayStation 5. This is similar to other games like Silent Hill 2 Remake, as well as Final Fantasy XVI, in which Sony either funds a portion of the development or pays an exclusivity deal to keep a title in their PlayStation console ecosystem during initial release to keep the conversation centred on their platform. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ayGk_auu5tk During the Video Game Awards, we finally received a release date of September 9, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and PC, which means a potential Xbox…
Opening up the Video Game Awards on the main stage, a new Star Wars title was announced. The game, entitled Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic, is a single-player, narrative-driven RPG that will serve as a spiritual successor and possible continuation of the classic Old Republic Games developed by BioWare, being developed by Arcanaut Studios in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games. The game’s development is being led by Casey Hudson, who directed the original Knights of the Old Republic title, as well as Mass Effect, during his time at BioWare. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iDuCLCmQ-18 The teaser trailer itself gives us very little to…
Shortly into the first Chapter of UNBEATABLE, after leaving the large house, protagonist Beat and her companion Quaver will head onto the streets with the ability to head right along it, passing by multiple people, whom the player can interact with if they want to. Making your way down the street, you will eventually come across a young girl with a jump rope in the middle of the road, her mother standing by the sidewalk in the background. This is who you are going to want to interact with to unlock the long-winded This Is Kind of Just A Game…
Earlier this year, Microsoft cancelled its reboot of the Perfect Dark franchise, a game that had been in development since around 2018. The title first received a trailer in 2024, years after being announced, during the Xbox Games Show in June of that year, skipping the next year completely, which was an indicator it might have been in some trouble, inevitably being cancelled a month later. After this, we learned that in a bid to save the project, developers involved with the Perfect Dark reboot began shopping the idea around to publishers, one of which approached and the closest to…
*This news article will contain some potential spoilers for Resident Evil Requiem. These cannot be confirmed if it is accurate at this time. GameStop has been known, from time to time, to list the exact wrong thing on their site when concerning an upcoming game (remember The Last of Us Part 2 killing dogs debacle?) And now it appears Resident Evil Requiem is the latest to hit this pitfall. In particular, this leak concerns a plot point that has been much debated since the title was initially announced: who you play as. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0wFNN1f6hF8 We know that players will take the…
