EA has confirmed that it has agreed to be acquired by an investment group composed of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Firm (PIF), Silver Lake, and Affinity Partners. The transaction is valued at approximately $55 billion, making this the largest all-cash sponsor private investment in History. Silent Hill f, the latest installment in the long-running Japanese horror series, has sold over 1 million copies across both physical and digital sales on the official release date of the game. The publisher behind the series, Konami, confirmed this news via a press statement, as well as on the franchise’s Japanese Twitter account page, thanking “everyone who played” for exceeding the million copies shipped mark just a day after its September 25th release. Opening the PlayStation State of Play Direct today, HouseMarque showcased the first gameplay look for their upcoming Spiritual successor to the PlayStation 5 game Returnal, entitled Saros.
