Bethesda has announced it will hold a showcase on October 23, the same day that Fallout Day is held every year. This date holds significance in the Fallout universe, as on October 23, 2077, in the Fallout Timeline, bombs were dropped across the world, leading to the Great War that, despite only lasting for two hours, left the world irradiated and humans in vaults for years, and led to around 10 games so far and a TV show. The Fallout Day Broadcast will be streamed live on October 23 at 10 am PT / 1 pm ET on Twitch, YouTube,…
Nintendo, via its Nintendo Today app, as well as its official YouTube channel, has posted a video with no clear-cut reason today. The video, entitled Close to You, doesn’t outright connect to anything in the Nintendo Library, looking more like a short film rather than an advert for a game; however, multiple fans have taken to social media to suggest that the video is actually teasing a new Pikmin game of some kind. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rsufGY5I8jA The video itself features a mother playing with a baby before the doorbell rings, leaving the child alone in their room. From here, a sense of…
Disclosure: I received a free review copy of The Home County from developer Swanwoth through https://www.keymailer.co Cozy games have become a dime a dozen in the years since Stardew Valley’s release, which is a statement I don’t really want to make, but feel I need to. Despite this being a very strong year for them, to some degree, even I have started to feel fatigue setting in, having bounced between around 12 in just the last few months. The home County, perhaps due to that, feels like it might be a day late and a dollar short to the scene,…
A listing for Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, a sequel to the third-person co-op shooter from 2021, has appeared online, despite the game having yet to be announced. The website for the Entertainment Software Rating Board, or ESRB, has a listing for the title, stating that it will be rated M for Blood and Gore, Strong Language, and Violence. It also lists the title as releasing for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. While no developer is listed on the ESRB page, the publisher is given as Daybreak Game Company LLC. This is notable as, while it was reported that…
The developer behind the popular heist series Payday, Starbreeze, announced on Thursday that they have canceled a cooperative Dungeons & Dragons title that was in development at the studio. Codenamed Project Baxter, the decision to cancel the title was part of an ongoing shift in focus to the Payday series, which last saw release in 2023 with Payday 3. CEO of Starbreeze, Adolf Kristjansson stated in a Press Release: This was a difficult but necessary decision. Where internal opportunities are limited, Starbreeze will provide active support for affected employees to transition to new roles across the industry. As part of…
JDM: Japanese Drift Master, at its core, is a drifting game. I love drift racing, one of my favorite racing games is the Ridge Racer series, and both games share some of the same DNA. There was an expectation that I would love the Drift-centric experience presented in front of me, but this didn’t hook me in the way I was hoping it would, and not for the reason you might think. This is a trip across the Japanese countryside, and one of the best in racing form that we have gotten, and so it feels a shame that your…
Artificial Intelligence has been part of pop culture for a long time, from films like the Kubrick masterpiece 2001: A Space Odyssey to games like RGG Studio’s first title, Binary Domain. Capcom, however, has found itself at a unique crossroads in time with its upcoming 2026 title, Pragmata, which features a main antagonist that is a rogue AI on the moon, leading to the struggles that the spacesuit-wearing protagonist and his young companion face. Manly, that since the game was concieved, AI has become a major part of the news cycle, which the developers had no idea would be the case.…

*Spoilers for Silent Hill f below. Early on in the third distinct part of Silent Hill f, Hinako awakens in front of the Chizuruya General Store, where she had had a confrontation with several monsters prior in the game. Here, while the player is tasked with following Shu you are given a pretty big amount of freedom to explore and backtrack. Across the street from the General Store, you can also backtrack to the alleys you traveled through to get here initially, when previously you needed to travel around the truck blocking the road. Traveling this way, you will eventually…
*Spoilers for Silent Hill f below. Shrine Path After the showdown outside the Chizuruya General Store, Hinako passes out, waking up later inside a mysterious shrine with no idea how she got there. When the player takes control of her yet again, there is not much they can do here, as much of the shrine is unlit., Everything seems to be guiding you forward towards two Inari statues and some offering plates and offerings. The basic goal here is to match up the offerings with the Sanbo, or Shinto offering pedestal, and go with it. We are not going to…
