Persona 3 represented an interesting crossroads for the series as a whole. At this point, the mainline Shin Megami Tensei series maintained a much larger audience than its spin-off series. This was also the first title in what many might consider the MODERN Persona series, changing a vast amount of gameplay elements including the creation of the now iconic social link mechanic. This news comes five months after Volition was closed by parent company Embracer Group, after 30 years in the industry. The Swedish publisher Embracer Group AB is canceling an as-of-yet-unannounced new title in the long-running sci-fi series Deus Ex after it was reportedly in development for over two years. In addition, they are laying off several employees at Deus Ex developer Eidos Montreal as part of a cost-cutting initiative. This is part of ongoing cuts across the industry that began last year, ending with over 10,000 jobs lost before the start of 2024. As of this year, in only the first month, we have seen over 5000 positions last, including Microsoft’s 1,900 lay-offs, most from their recently acquired Blizzard. Eidos…

As long as gaming has existed, there has been cheating. In some cases, such as Grand Theft Auto, they add a dash of fun to experience you already beat or simply would like to be less challenging. In the case of multiplayer titles, such as Call of Duty, they can ruin the entire experience by allowing a player far beyond the means of the game. One such device that has become popular for consoles in recent years is the Cronus Zen. In a recent update on the PlayStation 5, the use of the “controller emulator” Cronus Zen has been blocked…
