Industry veterans who formerly worked for Saints Row developer Volition appear to be founding a new studio. This news comes five months after Volition was closed by parent company Embracer Group, after 30 years in the industry. Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League has been brought offline a second time since it launched into 3-day early access, this time for indefinite maintenance. The Swedish publisher Embracer Group AB is canceling an as-of-yet-unannounced new title in the long-running sci-fi series Deus Ex after it was reportedly in development for over two years. In addition, they are laying off several employees at Deus Ex developer Eidos Montreal as part of a cost-cutting initiative. This is part of ongoing cuts across the industry that began last year, ending with over 10,000 jobs lost before the start of 2024.
