Streamed in collaboration with the VR Games Showcase, the annual Creature Feature showcase from the Creature label announced a slew of game announcements and updates. With some new games releasing as soon as this week and others confirming new titles in the works from beloved studios, there is no shortage of variety to get excited for the future of VR. Here are the most notable surprises from the event:
Hot Dogs, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades Gets Sequel
The VR phenomenon Hot Dogs, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades (H3VR) is getting a sequel for Meta Quest 3 and Steam. Get ready to shoot, loot, and scoot as a sentient hot dog in the sequel to the award-winning Immersive FPS.
Compass Is A New Open-World VR Flight Adventure Coming Soon
Out May 28, Canadian studio Trebuchet of Prison Boss fame is launching Compass. Explore long-lost skies in an open-world piloting adventure about finding your way through uncharted clouds. Maneuver your ship through hazardous floating landscapes, solve puzzles with your grapples, upgrade your vessel, and lead the caravan forward. Releasing for Meta Quest, Steam, and PlayStation VR2.
Puzzler Wordbound Confirms Steam Release
Quirky puzzle game Wordbound is soon heading to Steam in flatscreen and VR and Meta Quest. Wordbound is a cozy puzzle game where you transform words into objects to repair a scrambled world. Explore vibrant dioramas full of hidden clues and bring new words to life by arranging magical letter tiles. Discover thousands of handcrafted objects as you become a master wordsmith.
Janet’s Planets Offers Quirky Terraforming Services
Come on up to Janet’s Planets, the friendliest terraforming service in the Milky Way! Fix up faraway worlds, meet the aliens who live there, and make yourself at home among the stars. Using your hands (and Janet’s finest gadgets), you’ll warm climates, grow forests, and gently nudge planets into shapes their quirky residents can thrive in. Each species wants something different, so you’ll have to experiment, observe, and learn what each world truly needs. Janet’s Planets is coming soon to Meta Quest and Steam.
Crêpe Master! Shadowdrops
Crêpe Master is a VR beat ’em up where you play as Hana on a mission to save the sacred crêpe from an alien threat. Step into the role of a magical girl in a fun, wacky universe, and fight to protect the crêpe at all costs! In it you play as Hana, a magical girl who embodies the reincarnation of the Crêpe Goddess. Wielding her Sacred Pan and performing magic by striking poses, you must defend your home from an alien invasion and stop the ruthless tyrant threatening the Earth’s most beloved treat. Out May 7th for Meta Quest 3/3S.
It’s Time for Sock Puppet Superstar
The next game from Brandon Montell, the super viral Sock Puppet Superstar, will be published by the Creature Label. Control a singing sock puppet with your hand in VR. Open the mouth to make it sing, and match the notes flying towards you to stay on pitch. Perform solos or two-handed duets, unlock ridiculous voices and accessories, and put on the greatest sock concert of all time. Coming to Steam and Quest.
Laser Dance Announces Its ‘Mimic Update’
Developer Thomas Van Bouwel announced that Laser Dance, currently out in Early Access on Meta Quest, will be getting a new update. It adds six new levels to Laser Dance, the Mixed Reality game that turns your living room (or any room!) into a laser obstacle course. These levels feature a new green laser, which moves only when the player moves. The Mimic Update is planned to be released later this summer.
Deadly Delivery Keeps Things Fresh With The Goldmoon Update
Indie team Flat Head Studio (We Are One) today announced their VR horror co-op Deadly Delivery is getting new content today on Quest & SteamVR. It includes two new deadly enemies with their own unique mechanics and strategies for you to overcome. A brand new map event with unexpected encounters and additional rewards. New cosmetics and fresh options to personalize your look and a brand-new set of achievements for both Quest and SteamVR.
CROSSINGS Continues To Improve
Praised by Pixelbyte in its launch, Neat Corp showed a developer interview of Crossings on the Creature Feature Showcase. It also detailed a number of post-launch QOL updates and improvements to multiplayer. Delve into the afterlife and take on the weavers of fate in this Norse-inspired first-person VR soulslike. Crossings is out now on SteamVR and Meta Quest 3/3S.
Sweet Surrender Refines Its Mechanics
Indie VR studio Salmi Games announced during Creature Feature that Sweet Surrender is getting a brand new update TODAY. This is Update 16 for the game that is out now on Quest, PSVR2, and SteamVR and includes a third chip slot and 55 new chips, including medical precision, cross contamination, and more. Sweet Surrender is available now for PlayStation VR2, Meta Quest, and Steam.

FPS Hit Forefront Launched 1.0 Update
It’s time to squad up! Triangle Factory showcased a new remixed trailer, reminding us Forefront 1.0 is out now on Meta Quest, SteamVR & PICO. A large-scale VR shooter with 32-player battles, the 1.0 update adds a brand-new map, expanded weapon options, new progression unlocks, and more, adding to the already impressive, expansive, semi-destructible environments.
A Level Editor Is Coming to Beat the Beats
Breathing new life into Beat The Beats, a new level editor is coming soon to the Steam Workshop, as announced at Creature Feature. With the ability to add virtually any song in existence, this opens up the possibility to play beyond the game’s initial offerings exponentially. Spymaster Is Ready For Launch
Spy fans, get ready, as InnerspaceVR’s Spymaster is preparing its first mission briefing for you! In the world of counterintelligence, where every second counts, Spymaster arrives tomorrow, May 7th, as an Early Access title for Meta Quest and SteamVR.
Spymaster is a high-stakes action-narrative VR game filled with exciting set sequences, puzzles, and humor. Step into the shoes of operatives TIC, Mulligan, and OSCR, each with their own skills, gadgets, and irreverent dialogue.
