During the Tekken 8 finals at EVO 2025 on Sunday, fans of the franchise received their first look at the final two DLC characters set to complete the year two pass. The first of these, the popular returning Character Armor King, received a trailer showcasing his moves. Armor King, despite having the same moniker as the character King that launched in the base game, is a completely different character who has been both a friend and a rival to King.
Armor King will unleash his moves in Tekken 8 on October 16, with 72-hour early access being granted to players who have purchased the Year 2 Character & Stage Pass and Year 2 Character Pass, making him available on October 13th.
An official blurb for Armor King from Namco Bandai states:
Thirsting for revenge, the jet black villain Armor King returns to the Tekken ring. The “Dark Supernova” now sports a fiery mane, and as showcased in the trailer, brings back his arsenal of explosive moves and devastating combos. His addition to Tekken 8 grows the game’s roster to 39 fighters.
In addition to Armor King, the last character that will be available as part of the Year 2 season pass was also announced. This will be a brand new fighter, Miary Zo, will be the first character in the franchise to hail from Africa, the Only country yet to have representation in the series. She will also be the first brand-new character to release as part of the DLC.
An official blurb for Miary Zo states:
Even as they prepare to play Armor King, fans can already look forward to the next fighter, Miary Zo — the first original DLC character coming to Tekken 8. Miary Zo’s brief reveal included glimpses of a new level coming with her as part of the Winter DLC. The trailer showcased environments set in her historically rich homeland of Madagascar, featuring the island nation’s recognizable architecture and iconic baobab trees basked in the glow of a setting sun. Bandai Namco will reveal more information about Winter DLC content in the coming months.
A new stage is set in her home country, Madagascar, will become available when she is released. Unfortunately, since it was only a teaser for the character, we did not get get to see any of her gameplay or fighting style like we did with Armor King so players might not be ready to add her to their roster just yet. Miary Zo and her stage have no release date yet, but are slated for the Winter of this year.
